OhhWells versus Wix Studio

In short

Of every platform agencies compare us to, Wix Studio is the nearest neighbour — easy editor, SMB-friendly, workable handover. The differences are the point: a Conversion Score instead of guesswork, booking without app-stacking, pricing that doesn't multiply per site, and a platform built for Southeast Asia rather than adapted to it.

TL;DR
Wix Studio is the agency version of Wix — its own editor, better collaboration, client billing transfer, plans from $12 to $149/month per site (Enterprise: custom), on top of a free build tier. It's a genuinely reasonable choice for brochure-site rosters. OhhWells differs where it counts for service SMBs: conversion measurement is built in (Wix has none), booking works out of the box at every tier including Free — Wix gates real booking functionality behind its second-cheapest plan — sites look on-brand rather than template-recognizable, pricing is one flat number instead of per-site-plus-add-ons, and the platform is SEA-first.

The honest comparison

Where Wix Studio is genuinely strong

Full credit — this is the fairest fight on the list. Wix Studio is a separate builder from classic Wix with its own editor and plan lineup built for freelancers and agencies, including collaborator seats, priority support on higher tiers, and agency-scale features like expanded CMS and external collaborators on Elite. The editor is polished, clients find it approachable, billing can transfer to the client, and the app market covers almost any feature request. Neither platform white-labels, so that's a wash. If your roster is content-light brochure sites and your team already knows Wix, Studio is a defensible default.

Where the model breaks down — for service-SMB rosters

1. Nothing measures conversion. This is the structural gap. Wix Studio can tell you a site is live and traffic arrived — it cannot tell you or your client whether the site is built to convert. The Conversion Score — 30 checks across brand consistency, messaging, AI visibility and more — is included with every OhhWells site, and it's the difference between "the site looks great" and "the site scores 82, up from 54 before we rebuilt it." For agencies selling outcomes, that number is the sales asset.

2. Per-site pricing stacks fast. Building a site in Wix Studio is free, but publishing with a custom domain and removing Studio branding requires $12–149/month per site — and feature gaps fill from the app market on top of that, with email marketing alone adding $10–49/month depending on send volume. At 15 clients that's roughly $2.2K–27K a year in site plans before add-ons. OhhWells skips the stacking entirely: Free–$79/mo billed annually, one number, nothing bolted on.

3. A Wix site looks like a Wix site. Polished, yes — but template-recognizable, and brand-conscious clients notice. OhhWells' entire category position is the on-brand custom look without custom-build economics. For wellness studios and salons whose website IS their brand, that's the buying reason.

4. Booking: check the fine print. Wix Bookings is a competent, widely-used product for fitness studios and salons. The honest contrast: it only works once you're on Standard ($20/mo) or higher — Basic ($12/mo) has no calendar sync, no staff management, no notifications, and no booking analytics. OhhWells includes free and paid scheduling, staff management, and reminder emails on every plan, including Free.

5. Global product, no SEA lens. Wix builds for the world from Tel Aviv and New York. OhhWells builds for Malaysia, Singapore, and Southeast Asia first — local market norms, service-SMB verticals that dominate the region, and a partner programme designed for SEA agencies.

Worked example: 15 service-SMB clients needing real booking functionality (Standard $20/mo minimum). Wix Studio: ~$3.6K–27K/yr in site plans depending on tier, plus $10–49/mo per site if email marketing is needed. OhhWells: $0 on your bill — clients claim ownership and pay their own subscription (Free–$79/mo billed annually) after handover.

Who should choose what

Choose Wix Studio if: your team already lives in Wix, clients are content-light brochure businesses, and conversion measurement isn't part of your pitch.

Choose OhhWells if: your clients are service SMBs in Malaysia, Singapore, and SEA, you sell outcomes and want a Conversion Score to prove them, booking needs to work out of the box, and on-brand design — not template-recognizable design — is the standard you're selling.
